Dec 14, 2011 · While the original question was about getting the Cisco VPN client to work on Windows 8 (didn't work for me, and I also found that figuring out how to get the configuration settings correct for my companies VPN was not easy), if you are not required to use the Cisco client I've found that the free ShrewSoft (www.shrew.net) client works with Cisco VPN gateways and even can import the Cisco .pcf
